Put on your stretch pants, and get ready to dial your favorite pizza delivery joint cause February 9th is National Pizza Day! Not to be confused with National Pizza Month in October.
It would seem every day is pizza day in this country given how much pizza we eat every year. Hey, how much pizza do we eat every year? Who made the world’s longest pizza? The answers are right here in the latest “Seriously Have Some Fun Trivia!”
- The world’s longest pizza was recorded last year in Italy at over a mile long!
Pretty Amazing! But there are some fun trivia facts that are distinctly American :
- Americans eat about 3 billion pizzas every year! No stats on how much antacid goes with that.
- Top 5 days for ordering pizza:
Super Bowl Sunday
New Year’s Eve
Night before Thanksgiving
New Year’s Day
So expect overtime pay from December 31st to January 1st if you work at a pizza delivery place.
- Only in America in the mascot for a kids pizza joint a mouse.
And of course we can’t have stories from America without at least one of them involving a shoot out…with a BB gun (not the Red Rider variety.)
Here’s and excerpt from the story:
“He was visibly under the influence of something,” Amy said. “I don’t know what it was, but he wasn’t sober.”
Moments later, after Tony told the man they would be calling Uber for another driver, the man became enraged, pulled out a BB gun and shot at the building. The BBs narrowly missing the couple’s 18-year-old daughter doing prep work in the kitchen.”
Maybe it’s time to let the drones take over.
Or do what we did. Go out for pizza. I ordered this one called The Pig, from North Italia. Spicy pepperoni and sausage on a crispy crust, baked in a wood fire oven. Yum!
Team thin crust! Sorry Chicago, we can debate that another day.
So whether it’s thin or thick crust, pepperoni or plain, meat lovers or veggie, delivery or dining out, enjoy this delicious day!
